Narrative Bio

Hometown: Mississauga, ON, Canada

Undergraduate: McMaster University; Biomedical Engineering & Electrical Engineering

Medical School: Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Hobbies/Interests: Love to cook, read (finally accomplished my New Year’s resolution by reading at least one non-medical book every month this year) and travel! Pre-pandemic I travelled to 10 countries in one year. Next destination I hope will be Morocco or Greece.

Why Med-Peds: I’m a big M, little P, meaning I identify and feel more comfortable as a Medicine resident than Peds. But being on the Peds side and treating little humans is what keeps me sane. Also, the pathology you encounter on the Peds side is a lot more interesting! I also like the size of our Med-Peds program and the support that comes with it.

Why DMC/Detroit: As cheesy as it sounds, it was the people that brought me to WSU/DMC! I have felt supported with my career goals since the day I started. I also love Detroit because I love seeing the city rapidly grow right in front of my eyes. As a foodie, this means new places to hit up almost weekly.

Career Goals: Adult Cardiology, likely Interventional or Critical Care. But who knows who I’ll be in 5 years and what I’ll see myself subspecializing in. Will likely practice in an academic center for the first part of my career.
