Why Med-Peds: (1) Interest in treating complex diseases that impacts all ages (2) Interest in transition of care (3) Rigorous training in two specialties that I enjoy the most, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine
Why DMC/Detroit: I wanted the exposure to a diverse patient population with a wealth of pathology that strongly resemble similar medical, and socioeconomic challenges that I witnessed growing up in Cincinnati
Career Goals: I have an interest in sickle cell anemia. I completed a 2-year research training program at the National Institutes of Health where I focused on improving the quality of life for pediatric and adult patients suffering from sickle cell anemia. I hope to complete a pediatrics and adult Hem/Onc fellowship and to later return to the National Institutes of Health to treat and maximize therapy for patients with sickle cell anemia.
